Where Has Addie Been?

Life has been so busy lately. It seems so difficult to find time to blog. I am so mad at myself that I have not been updating Addie's blog. It seems like the more time that passes by, the easier it is to forget about keeping up with it. Anyway, I hope people will still check it because I am hoping to do a better job with it in the future. April flew by! Addie will be 8 months old on the 8th. Rod and I can't believe it! She is getting so big-really! I took her to the doctor last week because she has eczema, and she weighed 18lbs. 6oz. I hate it that she has eczema. She looks so pitiful when she scratches her arms. We may be wearing lots of long sleeves this summer if it doesn't clear up. I have some other friends whose children have it, and it sounds like Addie's is fairly mild. So hopefully she will be outgrowing it very soon. We have our first tooth. I haven't been able to capture a picture of it yet. She keeps her tongue over it most of the time, but when she laughs I can really see it! Addie has been a trooper with this teething thing. The only real setback has been that she is waking up more now. I hear that goes away fairly quickly. She is still so happy and doesn't act like it bothers her too much. I am expecting her to crawl any day now. She will stay on her stomach and reach for things like she is about to crawl, and then at the last minute she will roll over. Of course, Rod and I are putting toys just out of reach to encourage her to crawl. What amazes me- she still finds a way to get to the toy by rolling around. I have done no baby proofing up to this point so part of me is still thankful that she isn't totally mobile just yet. Here are a few pics I took over the past couple of weeks so you can see how much she is changing. She is getting so much hair, and I really think it will lighten up this summer!

I love the wind-blown look. Rod says this does not look like our child. Addie loves to go on walks when the weather is pretty. We have been doing lots of this lately.

She is so sweet! I love those chubby cheeks! Connor has excema too and it is a real challenge sometimes. I am sure the doctor told you but 1% hydrocortizone workes great for the itching. The only thing that helps is to keep it moisturized with Aquaphor cream. We use it every night before bed. The doctor also prescribed me a steroid cream (has hydrocortizone in it) and I use it at night for the red rashes. However it is hard because Connor breaks out on his hands and wrist and the cream isnt supposed to be near the mouth or eyes. Try to tell that toddler! Ha! Just be thankful she doesnt have food allergies, it is even more difficult. Good luck!

I am glad to see that you are back to blogging. I have missed seeing her pictures and hearing what she is doing. She and Sailor seem to be reaching milestones at similar times...she just got her first tooth as well, but Nikki can't catch a picture of it either!!!
