Dancing with Daddy

Our New Trick!

Mother's Day

We had a great day on Mother's Day! Addie was dedicated at church. We spent the day at our house with Mimi, Grandad, Grammie, Babaw, Mamaw and Daddy Bill. They all got to come to church for the dedication. Addie loved her flower that Grandad got for her.

Addie is 8 Months Old!

Everyone told me when I was pregnant that there is nothing like having a child. Of course, I knew I would agree with them when Addie was born. But boy, I really had NO idea how much I would love this child. She makes life so exciting for us. If Rod isn't home before I put her to bed, he begs me to go get her from her crib. She is the happiest baby, and every stage of development is so fun! God has blessed our family beyond measure with her!

This isn't the best picture because of her eyes, but if you look closely I think you can see her teeth in it!

Yes, she is sitting in a baby pool with no water. I have found that it is great for her. If she accidentally falls over, this pool is perfect to soften the fall.

She loves tags on anything. You can give her the neatest toy, and she will immediately look for the tag. And of course, everything is still going straight into her mouth.

Happy Girl!

This look is after several minutes of me doing whatever I can to capture her attention and possibly get a smile long enough to then get the picture. I think she is wondering what in the world I am doing. She may possibly think I'm a little crazy. Rod has told me several times that he should be videoing me while I am trying to make her smile because that is something she could really appreciate watching later in life....ha ha.

Where Has Addie Been?

Life has been so busy lately. It seems so difficult to find time to blog. I am so mad at myself that I have not been updating Addie's blog. It seems like the more time that passes by, the easier it is to forget about keeping up with it. Anyway, I hope people will still check it because I am hoping to do a better job with it in the future. April flew by! Addie will be 8 months old on the 8th. Rod and I can't believe it! She is getting so big-really! I took her to the doctor last week because she has eczema, and she weighed 18lbs. 6oz. I hate it that she has eczema. She looks so pitiful when she scratches her arms. We may be wearing lots of long sleeves this summer if it doesn't clear up. I have some other friends whose children have it, and it sounds like Addie's is fairly mild. So hopefully she will be outgrowing it very soon. We have our first tooth. I haven't been able to capture a picture of it yet. She keeps her tongue over it most of the time, but when she laughs I can really see it! Addie has been a trooper with this teething thing. The only real setback has been that she is waking up more now. I hear that goes away fairly quickly. She is still so happy and doesn't act like it bothers her too much. I am expecting her to crawl any day now. She will stay on her stomach and reach for things like she is about to crawl, and then at the last minute she will roll over. Of course, Rod and I are putting toys just out of reach to encourage her to crawl. What amazes me- she still finds a way to get to the toy by rolling around. I have done no baby proofing up to this point so part of me is still thankful that she isn't totally mobile just yet. Here are a few pics I took over the past couple of weeks so you can see how much she is changing. She is getting so much hair, and I really think it will lighten up this summer!

Playing in the front yard _

I love the wind-blown look. Rod says this does not look like our child. Addie loves to go on walks when the weather is pretty. We have been doing lots of this lately.
